Cokls Ragdolls is a small cattery located in north Georgia. We are dedicated to providing our customers with a variety of beautiful, traditional and non-traditional... mink and solid Ragdolls. It goes without saying - Ragdolls are among the most beautiful cats in the world. There are many different patterned varieties including Points, Mitted, Bi-Color, Lynx (tabby), Tortie, Torbie and many colors to choose from including Seals, Blues, Creams, Flames, and the very rare Lilac.
The minks and solids were started right along with the Traditionals in Ann Bakers breeding programs. Color and pattern however, is not what is so special about a Ragdoll. Ragdolls like to cuddle and snuggle. Like little puppies, they follow you around the house and want to be included in family activities which is what makes them such excellent pets. Ragdolls are also bred for a sweet/mild temperament. They also don't shed as much or matt as much as other long-haired cats. Ragdolls often prefer to see the world "upside down" and at their happiest and most trustful moments, they roll over on their backs with all four paws sticking up in the air... and look at you with big, beautiful Royal to Sky blue eyes. These cats get their name because when you hold them in your arms, they often go limp... hence the name Ragdoll. Many stories about the origin and development of the Ragdoll breed exist. The most common belief and one that everyone agrees upon is that a woman named Ann Baker in Riverside California developed the breed from three feral cats. Ms. Baker noticed that a feral cat named Josephine had some very special qualities and that her litters had those same qualities. She obtained a kitten from Josephine and began the breed in the 1960’s. The minks and solids were started right along with the traditionals in Ann Bakers breeding programs. Minks and solids have aqua, green or yellow-orange eyes but are just as stunningly beautiful as the traditional blue eyes and are very, very rare to find. I can say from my own experience, when you see your first Ragdoll - you'll be smitten immediately, if not sooner!
